Maple Leaves supports a number of special programs and organizations that encourage environmental responsibility and tree planting.
Ontario Envirothon Program
The Ontario Envirothon is a unique environmental education program coordinated by the not-for-profit charity, Forests Canada. It immerses students in hands-on learning and discovery, offering budding environmental leaders a chance to explore career paths in the natural sciences and receive mentorship.
Since 2016, Maple Leaves Forever has supported the Ontario Envirothon program by donating toward the program and cash prizes for top ranking teams. We congratulate Forests Ontario on celebrating the 30th anniversary of this program this year (2024).

Canadian Tree Nursery Association

The Canadian Tree Nursery Association (CTNA) advocates on behalf of tree nurseries from coast to coast to coast. Formed in 2023, the Canadian Tree Nursery Association is the only national voice representing tree nurseries in Canada. The new trade association represents 50 nurseries and over 90% of current Canadian tree seedling production, aims to increase production, enhance collaboration, drive innovation and promote sustainable practices in the tree nursery sector. MLF is a proud founding sponsor.
One Bench One Tree

MLF is a founding sponsor of One Bench One Tree (1B1T) [link], a grassroots project that aims to place a bench and plant a tree to shade the bench as a thank you to front-line workers and other healthcare staff during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. In three years, MLF has donated 14 Native Canadian Maple trees to of these projects across Ontario to thank the workers who have put their lives at risk to keep our communities safe during the pandemic.

Trees for Life / Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign

MLF is a founding sponsor of the Highway of Heroes Tree campaign, that has created a living tribute to honour the 117,000 Canadians who died during wartime. A tree for every hero has been planted along the Highway of Heroes between Trenton and Toronto. These trees will stand for generations, honouring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
