Winter Maple Care
- monitor for tree damage or stress
- prepare planting plans for upcoming year
- place order for Native Maples from nursery (You may be disappointed if you delay doing this now)
- Apply for your Maple Tree Rebate from Maple Leaves Forever (spring application deadline is May 15 – but you will get better selection if you apply and order your trees early!)
- Native Maples should not be pruned during the late winter through spring season.

With heavy hearts, the team at Maple Leaves Forever mourns the passing of our Founder, Ken Jewett, who died on November 26, 2025, at the age of 95. Ken leaves an extraordinary legacy of maple-lined roadsides across Ontario. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and by all of us at Maple Leaves Forever.
Our Impact
Over the past two decades, Maple Leaves Forever has supported the planting of over 136,760 Native Canadian Maple trees!
That’s equivalent to 1,258 km (782 miles) of maple-lined Ontario roadside. That’s more than the driving distance from Sault St Marie to Ottawa!
MLF also sponsors the following environmental & tree planting initiatives: Ontario Envirothon, One Bench One Tree, Grand Trees Climate Change Solutions and Highway of Heroes Tribute.
